Today was a great day at CRCC. Jason Malone from Summit Church swapped pulpits (can I say pulpit) with our pastor for the day. Jason shared the story of Summit and challenged us with what it means to be on mission with a God who is on mission.
Because JoAnna and Ella Tays are out of town, I am just sitting here watching Lakers/Celtics and dreaming about what it would look like if my neighborhood was transformed. I'm going to be honest....I don't really know all of my neighbors...and mostly on purpose. Most are nothing like me. Most don't want to know me.
God decided it was time that I hear the shattering of His heart!
When I walked outside and heard my neighbor's dog barking and children playing down the street. It actually broke my heart! I've heard this sound before....but not like tonight.
What would it look like if my WHOLE neighborhood walked with Jesus?
I'm convinced...until we can listen to the sounds of our neighborhood/city and sit broken....then we are just throwing out the word "missional."
God, I was just looking for a chill night with the NBA finals and Ice Road Truckers. Thanks for alltering it with the SOUNDS of my neighborhood and your heart for it!
