Reverse Goal Mapping

I was having lunch with a friend a few weeks ago, who also happens to be a life coach as well. I always thought the idea of having a life coach was ridiculous until I started hanging out with this guy.

In passing one of the things that he said really stuck out to me. He mentioned the concept of Reverse Mapping. You ever heard of that?

Basically it's where you envision your goal...the end....the pinnacle....what it would "look" like if every dream was realized. Once you know what the end should look like, you look backwards and find out what the steps should look like in arriving at the goal in proggresive order.  This was huge for me....really nothing more than a fancy way to say....set some tangible goals.

My brain has been in reverse since our meeting.  Just some food for thought!

Irreplaceable Towels

I posted at the beginning of the year some goals that I wanted to accomplish this year.  Let's just say that I have drifted from my beach towel and I need to get out of the water in order to find it on the beach.  However, my time with Ella Tays and my non-negotiabledate nights with JoAnna have remained pretty consistent.

Just when I start to get down on myself for not reaching all of my goals I realize that the two irreplaceable hats that I wear in this life are #1 being a Husband to JoAnna and #2 being Ella Tays' dad.  These are two towels that I can't afford to lose sight of while I am fighting the drift of the waves of life.

There are a few guys that motivate me to love my wife well and there are some dads out there that motivate me to be the best dad I can be.  One of the guys that motivates me to set goals and to focus on being a stellar dad is Mark Batterson

If your not following evotional then what are you waiting for?

No Excuses

I wish I would have watched this before I hit the snooze this morning and skipped out on the gym.

Goal Kick

I've been thinking alot about goals lately. It could be because it's January "08" or because I have a ridiculous sinus infection and have been in the bed and not very occupied with other things.

Either way, after reading Batterson's post, I am on the goal kick.
