I just witnessed the Ole Miss Rebels beat Florida in the swamp 31-30. This is what I learned today!
1.Everyday is a new day. Ole Miss should be 4-0 but lost a few at the end, however they know that Saturday is always coming around the corner.
2.Every player is valuable. Jevon Snead had a ton of time in the pocket because the O Line was doing their job. The defense was swarming all day. The punter was placing the ball consistently in the right place. Everyone was doing their individual job.
3. Finishing is paramount. The game is not just 60 minutes but 60 minutes that are made up of 15 second intervals. Finishing every interval results in a win!
4.Finding Momentum is everything. When a 4th quarter PAT was blocked by Ole Miss, the team turned it up a notch and everyone put all their chips in.
5.Never lose composure. Houston Nutt never lost his head....even in the midst of poor officiating and big plays from the Gators. He always remained calm even when it looked like the Rebels were going to give the game away.
If I had Tommy Bowden's email, I would send these to him. Motivating him is a mystery...no one has figured it out yet.
College Football coaches have the toughest job in the world. When your only measurement of success is putting a W on the board, your neck is on the line every year.
Well....with that being said, espn.com announces that Ole Miss firesCoach O .
